This is my version of a fantasy mailbag. I’m sure you know what that is… an opportunity for fantasy football players to ask questions about roster changes, who they should keep, what free agents are best to pick up and so on and so forth. If you have a question for us, and we hope you do, feel free to email your question to Advice@pzfantasyfootball.com. Thank you!

im in a 1ppr league using 2 wr’s 2 rb’s and a rb/wr flex with a te and a qb. 1pt every 10 yds rushing and 1pt 20 yd’s receiving and 6 for td’s. are deep threat wideouts still more valuable then possession receivers? and i usually wait to draft a qb in order to build depth at other receivers. should i draft 2 stud receivers off the bat? i have the 9th position ~ Louis Magee

PZ - Alright. Well first and foremost how many teams are in the league? If you’re in a 10-12 team league then you should definitely snag 2 all star receivers with your first 2 picks. There will be plenty of RB talent left for you in rounds 3 and 4. Since you have a flex position as well, if the RB talent in rounds 3 and 4 is slim, you can go with another all-star Wide Receiver and inevitably you could roster the likes of Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Braylon Edwards.

Waiting to draft a QB is a smart move… you can easily snag a decent QB in the later rounds, say rounds 6-8. Focus on your receivers, then your RB’s, and then snag your signal caller and you should have great success.

I have the 11th pick in 14 team 1point per reception league. We run the snake draft and generally running backs are first ones to go off the board.Which positions should I draft in first three rounds and in what order? keep in mind all touchdowns are six points. ~ Tex Lopez

PZ - This really depends on how the draft goes, but generally you’ll want to fill your RB spots, then your WR spots, especially in a PPR league. Although if 10 RB’s go in a row, you’d be hard pressed not to go with a WR. At the 11th pick you’ll definitely want to snag Maurice Jones Drew and/or Reggie Bush. If you can get both, that would be great, if not, you’ll want to take a look see through the RB’s and the WR’s and see which has better talent. You’re more than likely gonna find some all-star talent in the WR pool and you’ll want to grab it. If you drafted RB, WR, WR you could end up with Jones-Drew, Wayne/Edwards and Coltson/Fitzgerald. I managed to get both Colston and Fitzgerald in rounds 2 and 3 in a 16 team PPR league, so don’t think it’s not possible to see them still there in the 3rd round. If Moss falls to you at 11th, and Jones Drew and Bush are both off the board, go with Moss and a RB in round 2. You can’t wait too long to get starting RB’s or else you’ll be hard pressed to find any talent later on. So try out the method of RB, WR, WR and see how it works out.
